"Rad Vibes and High Fives" - Canty

Submissions will be posted below.

Canty is the guy I would call in the middle of the night and say, I need you.  He didn't ask questions... he didn't hesitate... he just showed up, ready for anything.  He was a big teddy bear.  Strong and handsome yet rugged with smelly feet.  He was my friend, my roommate, my bartender and my brother.  I was alway jealous of his hair.  One time he took my credit card.  When I woke up, I had a flight and hotel room he had booked me in Key West to join him at a wedding.

This website is run by me but belongs to all of us.  It will never come down; ever.  It is his and a place for all of us to come and enjoy.  We live in a digital age and Chris is now one click away with a treasure of over 800 photos that will be added.  If anyone has anything they want to add or ideas about this site, contact me.  Chris, I love you bro. You will be missed.

Would go to a certain spot just to get one of his "bomb 💣" shots ...always has a smile and could put one on your face! Will be missed bud.

I met Canty on an unforgettable , hilarious, and WEIRD trip to Deep Creek that Aliesha invited me to, and hadn’t warned me what I was in for.

He brought the whole bar, then there was beer Olympics, a fire in the house somehow, Kempton, snow angels, ect. Lolll :))) it was a trip that brought out everyone’s personality. Our first conversation was that he was not tolerating my plain boring snow boots because they definitely were not colorful enough for him . He insisted I get neon laces as soon as we went to one of the shops.

I’ll miss his spark, randomly spotting him almost everywhere, catching up, and hugs. I hope we all honor him with carrying his spark and giving bear hugs of our own.  - Gratefully, Stevi

I met you through my older sister Sara. You and I became close friends quickly. Seeing you in Annapolis was my knowing it was going to be a solid night and an amazing story the next day. The last message I had from you on messenger you sent me a message from Craigslist explaining the top 10 reasons to date a lesbian and then shortly after asked if I’d rather be a donkey or an opossum. You always treated me like we knew each other since we were kids and had no problem telling me like it was when I was acting like a fool. When I needed a hug you always had the biggest of them and it always felt like coming home when you gave them.

My heart is broken. It’s hard to know what to say right now because nothing I say will bring you back, but I pray you’re looking down and seeing how loved were and are and how many lives you touched with your presence.

So many people called you the life of the party, and it was true. You truly were. There was never a themed vacation or group event you didn’t fully commit to. My 30th Birthday/Nursing Graduation Getaway to Deep Creek is a perfect example, right down to the details of the duct tape medals you and Kempton created for the Beer Olimpyks Games and the craziness that followed that long-weekend in -6 degree weather. I will always look back laughing.

I loved that it never mattered how much time passed between us, you always greeted me with the biggest hug and had the biggest smile. Stevi just reminded me of that time I tried (horribly) to recreate the bathroom scene from Wanderlust with Paul Rudd. There’s a video of you just in the background mouthing “What the F*ck,” and that perfectly describes our friendship. You’d just shake your head at the ridiculous things us girls did or said.

You were one of the very first people Joey introduced me to when we started dating in 2009, and I will forever cherish the memories you gave us. You were loved. You are loved and I pray you are at peace.

Chris grew up three houses from me in North Shore, Pasadena. I babysat him. We would shoot hoops all the time. He was so kind and funny. Our paths crossed each other again in Naptown at all the usual spots-Dock Street, O’Bs... He always had a smile and a big welcoming hug. Thanks for being one of the good ones Chris.

Too many good memories to pick just one. Canty was like a staple in my life for the last 20+ years I never could have imagined a world where he wasn’t in it. I’m gonna miss those big bear hugs, that sarcastic wit and that goofy smile.
